Javier Solís: "Valencia CF's stance before the new sports law is one of concern and complete rejection"
Valencia CF’s corporative director, Javier Solís, assessed the new sports law in the build-up to Matchday 11 of LaLiga at Mestalla highlighting that "It impedes the growth of LaLiga and Spanish football -in the Primera and Segunda divisions".
What is Valencia CF's stance before the new sports law?
Valencia CF's stance is clear. It is one of concern and complete rejection of the new legislative document. A the end of the day, what Spanish football and LaLiga need -both in Primera and Segunda- is legal security that allows us to continue growing as we have been doing over the past ten years. It seems as if the government haven'tstopped to think of the damage and harm that this would cause LaLiga. It is important to continue the growth that we've had in the last ten years, for everybody.
Without getting into too much detail so that the football fans can understand it, what are the main points of disagreement
Mainly, in brief, we need legal security, which is very important forgrowth in any sector. The new text gets rid of that almost completely. It seems as if it also favours the founding of the so-called 'Superleague,' which only suits a pair of clubs. It impedes the growth of LaLiga and Spanish football -in the Primera and Segunda divisions.
In summary, we want to continue with the ecosystem that Europeanleagues have, protecting the national product in a way that is key to development.
